Lorrha GAA notes – 17/6/24

Lotto: There was No Winner of this weeks lotto jackpot of €5,700.

The numbers drawn on 17 June were: 3-14-27-31.

Senior: Best of luck to the senior hurlers who return to the North Championship this Saturday when they take on holders Nenagh Eire Og in a quarter final in Cloughjordan at 7.00pm. All support would be appreciated.

Junior: Hard luck to our junior hurlers who suffered an agonising defeat on penalties to Silvermines in the North Junior ‘B’ Hurling League final in Puckane on Sunday. At the end of normal time, the sides were tied at 1-15 to 0-18, and at the end of extra time, 1-18 to 0-21, with the game going to penalties with Silvermines edging to a 4-3 win after sudden death. Well done to the players on a super effort and best wishes to Paddy Reddin who was injured late in the game. Thanks to Donie Franks, Ann Delahunt-Smyth, the officials, Silvermines and Kiladangan clubs for their help in the aftermath.

The team look forward to the start of the championship which begins in two weeks’ time.

Under 15: Lorrha Rovers begin their North/West Hurling League campaign away to Clonoulty/Rossmore this Thursday at 7.30pm.

Primary Schools: Well done to Rathcabbin NS on winning their county final in the County Cumann na mBunscoil finals last week at FBD Semple Stadium.

Social Dancing: continues in the Tony Reddin Centre this Friday evening from 9.30pm to the music of Andy Feery.

Congratulations: and well wishes to senior hurler Cian Hogan and Aine Dunne on their recent marriage. Wishing them every future happiness.

Sympathies: To the Coughlan family, Kilgask, on the death of Margaret Coughlan, and to the Kennedy family, Lordspark, on the death of Anthony. May they Rest in Peace.
