Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship – Lorrha 3-23 Killenaule 2-22

Congratulations to our Premier Intermediate hurlers who secured their place in the County Premier Intermediate Hurling quarter-finals after a four-point victory over Killenaule in Semple Stadium on Sunday.

It was a high-scoring and high-quality clash between the two teams, with Killenaule rushing into a five-point lead in the opening quarter (0-8 v 0-3). Our lads responded well however, with Cian Hogan and Oisin Guinan raising green flags before the interval to give us a five-point lead at the break. (2-10 v 0-11).

Killenaule emerged the stronger team after the break, scoring two goals to turn the game on its head and build a two-point lead of their own. But Lorrha had the better of the final quarter with Bonner scoring the final goal of the game to give us a lead which we managed to hold onto against a very good Killenaule side.

Congratulations to players and management on securing this second win of the group stage campaign. Next up is Portroe in a fortnight.
