Senior Hurling: Well done to the lads on their 1-23 to 3-13 over Moycarkey/Borris in Tony Reddin Park on Sunday in the third round of the County Hurling League Division 1.

The home side were quickly out of the blocks and raced into a 0-6 to 0-1 lead after ten minutes but a goal from a free by Kieran Morris knocked them back on their heels. The visitors gained the upper hand with Kieran Cummins and Kyle Shelly to the fore as Lorrha led 0-12 to 1-6 at the break.

The visitors had the breeze in the second half but despite losing Darragh Guinan to injury, Lorrha upped a gear, outscoring Moycarkey 1-8 to 0-4 four points in the first twenty minutes of the half with Eoin McIntyre getting the goal, as part of a 1-4 haul from play while Conor Kennedy (0-4), Brendan Fogarty (0-2) and Colm Fogarty (0-8, 4f) all in good form. Lorrha conceded two late sloppy goals to Kyle Shelly and Killian Cantwell but held onto record their second win in three games.

Their next game is against Kiladangan on the weekend of 25-26 April.

Junior Hurling: Lorrha host Knockshegowna in round 2 of the North Junior ‘B’ Hurling League this Sunday at 10.30am.
