Lorrha GAA notes – 2/3/26

Lorrha GAA notes

Sympathies: It is with great sadness we learned of the passing of Oliver Duggan. He was a hugely popular figure who managed our U-12 hurlers and footballers to county success in the early 2000s. He remained involved at U-14 and U-16 level, culminating in county minor glory in 2006 against Éire Óg Annacarty.

He subsequently coached in Lorrha primary school for the best part of a decade, leaving an indelible mark. The progress of his sons Colm, Aidan and Ciaran on Lorrha teams throughout the years gave him great pride, with a blue and white flag generally flying high outside his house. Club members took part in a richly deserved Guard of Honour for Oliver on Monday morning.

The club extends sympathy to Martina and the family. May he Rest in Peace.

Tipp draw: Congrats to Mary Sherlock, Killeen, on winning €300 in the February Tipp Draw.

Lotto: Our lotto has reached the €14,500 mark and you can sign up online or in local shops. If you’re not in you can’t win.

Social Dancing: Continues next Friday to the music of Noel Briody at 9.30.
