Well done to our Intermediate hurlers who beat Shannon Rovers to claim the Kelly’s of Fantane North Tipperary Intermediate Hurling Championship in Nenagh on Saturday evening.
Our Lower Ormond neighbours started the stronger in the first 10 minutes, scoring a goal as they built the early lead. But our lads fought back before the break to go in 2-13 to 1-4 leaders. Bonner and Colm Fogarty got the goals, with Colm winning the Man of the Match award for his excellent shooting display of 1-9 on the evening.
We built on that half-time lead in the third quarter before Rovers came back at us in the closing stages with two further goals.

It’s a first North Intermediate title for us since 2007, but thoughts will quickly turn to the start of the County Intermediate Championship this weekend. We face Carrick Davins in the first group stage game in Templemore on Saturday evening at 7.30pm.
