County Junior B Hurling Semi-Final – Lorrha 1-11 Thurles Sarsfields 0-23

Lorrha Junior B Hurling 2022

Hard luck to our Junior B hurlers whose season came to an end on Sunday when they were defeated by Thurles Sarsfields by 0-23 to 1-11 in Moneygall.

The Mid side led by 0-11 to 0-6 at half time, and pulled seven points clear shortly after the break. However, a Willie Hough goal and two more quickfire points from Jimmy Dunne and Barry Moran pulled us back to within two points.

the Thurles team showed a lot of class in the last 20 minutes to pull clear. Ger ‘Redser’ O’Grady and John Lawlor were among their club stalwarts to enter the fray in the second half to help them to victory. Best wishes to them and Solohead as they prepare for the final.

Thanks to our Junior B hurlers and the management team for all their effort this year. They gave us plenty of memorable days, including the North semi-final win over Silvermines at Moatfield and the narrow loss to Portroe in the North Final.

Thoughts will now turn fully to the County Intermediate Hurling Final against Moneygall next weekend (Fixture details TBC).

Please get as much Blue and White out to show support for the lads.
