GAA Injury Benefit Fund

When you pay your membership, you become part of Lorrha & Dorrha GAA Club.  You also become a member of the GAA Injury Benefit Fund

The GAA Injury Benefit Fund is a self-funded benefit fund, funded entirely from GAA funds with no outside involvement. The GAA Injury Benefit Fund does not seek to compensate fully for injuries sustained, but to supplement other schemes such as personal accident or health insurance.

The fund is not an insurance product. The fund is in place to support the payment of benefits if no other covers are in place.

The GAA membership year runs from January 1st to December 31st. All playing members must be registered on Foireann in order to benefit from the fund.

If a player is not registered at the time of the injury, DWF Claims will decline the claim.

March 31st date only applies to the deadline for eligibility to vote at the Club’s AGM.

March 31st has nothing to do with eligibility for benefit under injury fund.

All claims must be notified within 60 days of the injury date.

The maximum payout by the injury benefit fund is €5,200.

All players must be registered before their first training session.
