Our Premier Intermediate hurlers picked up a hard fought point during a rare visit to Kilcommon in Division 3 of the County Hurling League on Sunday, 30 April.
Despite playing with the aid of the breeze, our lads trailed by three points at half time (0-12 v 0-9). That lead was extended to six points midway through the second half but we fought back in the closing stages with the help of a well worked goal from Cian Hogan, via good work from Martin Gorman.
Colm Fogarty’s ninth free of the day gave us the lead in injury time, but Sean Treacys hit an equalising free of their own to share the spoils on a warm afternoon.
We go on to play St Mary’s of Clonmel in the final group game of the campaign on Sunday week, and a win would put us through to the semi-finals.
Thanks to the Sean Treacys club for their hospitality in Kilcommon on the day.
