Well done to our Premier Intermediate hurlers who qualified for the County Hurling League Division 3 semi-finals on Sunday afternoon after a nine-point victory over St Mary’s at Tony Reddin Park.
Our lads entered the game knowing that they had to avoid defeat to ensure qualification, and built a strong lead in the opening half (0-14 v 0-4) with the aid of a healthy breeze.
St Mary’s surged in the second half and cut the gap significantly, but Lorrha finished strongly in the last 10 minutes. Colm Fogarty scored Lorrha’s only goal of the game to ensure victory in the closing stages.
Lorrha have finished second in the group behind Ballingarry, and will face Newport in the semi-finals in the coming weeks.
